Pic shows: The dead babies and human remains found in an old laboratory. A medical student stumbled upon a ‘house of horrors’ when exploring an old laboratory and finding jars stuffed full of dead babies and human remains. Georgiy Grigorchuk, 24, had gone to the crumbling old histopathological lab which was used to examine human tissue in order to study the manifestations of diseases, in the town of Tobolsk in south Russia. Walking through the local gardens he had seen a door to the crumbling old building open and had gone inside. There he discovered the jars of formalin stuffed full of dead babies and human body parts. He said: "It was like walking into a house of horror or stumbling upon some crazed scientist’s laboratory. "One of the jars on the floor had what looked like an alien in it. "It had a massively deformed head and its mouth was open as in the painting 'The Scream'. "Its legs were wrapped up around its chest and it was lying among the broken remains of the jar. "It looked like someone had dropped it to thrown it as there wasn’t a table nearby for it to fall off. "In another jar by the window there was another baby corpse. "It had operating scars on it. "Being a medical student, I am used to seeing dead bodies, etc, but not like this." Scattered around the room were also medical histories of patients and autopsy notes including names and dates of birth, as well as other jars in a box full of human remains. Sickened Grigotchuk took photos of the horror find and reported it to the police. A spokesman for the prosecutors office said that the lab had closed down in 2013 and that they had "started an investigation." (ends)
